Sitting proudly at the border of the cities of Cleveland and Shaker Heights, Shaker Square is the town center for the surrounding neighborhoods. “If you take away the municipal boundaries, Shaker Square is the town center for a city of over 200,000 people,” says Peter Rubin, CEO of The Coral Company, which owns and manages the property. “For generations, Shaker Square was a neighborhood destination. We are dedicated to ensuring that the offerings at Shaker Square – both shopping and dining choices, as well as the gathering spaces – will meet the needs of the residents of Shaker Square and become the destination spot it once was.”
Shaker Square’s public spaces – the green space and the sidewalk areas that circle the square – have remained unchanged throughout The Square’s nearly 80-year history. The Coral Company is committed to enhancing the Square’s public spaces to make Shaker Square the destination to shop, dine and play.
The external environment of Shaker Square is envisioned as supporting and enhancing the experience of all who visit The Square, as it continues to serve as the commercial, social, cultural and transportation intersection for all who live, work and socialize there.
